Republic of Ireland 3-0 Wales-Gibson

That was probably the most comfortable Irish victory in many a year and almost certainly the easiest of the Trapattoni era. After a shocking first-half, Ireland were a lot better after the break and were rewarded with three goals, two of which (Gibson and Fahey) were the best from an Ireland side in quite some time. Hard to know what Trapattoni could have learned from a game where the opposition simply didn't show up, but Damien Duff was as good as I've seen in a long time and Ciaran Clark was very good and did enough to convince that he is the right man for the left-back slot on a long-term basis.
